Mediation

Mediations, voluntary meetings between disputing parties facilitated by a neutral mediator, are often useful in resolving disputes. SHG trial attorneys have the ability to assist clients in reaching creative solutions to their disputes in the context of mediation sessions. A focus upon the interests of the parties as opposed to the positions of the parties, often reveals solutions otherwise not obtainable in a formal trial. In addition to representing clients in mediation sessions, two SHG trial attorneys are trained mediators who help others resolve their disputes.

Too often, parties fail to identify the true interests behind a dispute. The trial attorneys at Sandak Hennessey & Greco, LLP spend the time with their clients to understand the "root of the problem". Whether it is a contract dispute involving an employment relationship, a dispute under the Uniform Commercial Code or a personal injury case in which someone has been seriously injured, SHG trial attorneys take the time to not only understand the issues involved but also to understand how this dispute has effected their business or their personal lives. Through such an understanding creative solutions can be identified and advanced - solutions that might not be obtainable in the more formal setting of a trial.

Partners Jay H. Sandak and Stephen J. Conover have been trained to serve as private mediators. They are sought out by other members of the legal community to serve as the neutral third party to help resolve disputes.
